It’s that time of year again when Mr Kitty and I plan ourselves a lovely short break to get away from the hustle and bustle of City Life.
I have to be honest, I am so ready for a break that 1 night is going to feel like 1 month away, and I am fully anticipating a huge healing sensation.
This time, to “escape” the bustle of Manchester, we have decided to go to London.
This may seem counter-intuitive – who goes to the biggest City in the UK to get away from City Life?
It’ll be nice to soak up some culture.
And, as always, I have a dilemma. What do you wear on a Short break?
I have several things to consider:
1. Temperature. The UK weather at present is unpredictable. I have to account for pleasant sunshine AND ice cold winds.
2. Luggage. We only have 1 night in our hotel, but are arriving in London at 7.10am and leaving at 10pm the following day. I don’t want to have LOADS of stuff to carry with me.
3. Comfort. Can I walk around all day in the thing I want to wear?
4. Fitting in. Am I going to avoid the pickpockets by looking like a real city slicker.
Well, here is what I am doing:
I am going to have to break a handful of my own rules, though.
Re-wear leggings 2 days in a row.
Carry a Toothbrush in my Handbag.
Wedges for a Walking Trip (In my defense, these are CRAZY comfy boots).
Now we just need to figure out where to stay. A Suite at Claridges is just too bland for us.
