Awesome Cakes, Gay Pride, Blues & Beer | Weekend Roundup

It’s taken me a while to get around to blogging this Weekend Roundup – mainly because the Bank Holiday was so much more busy than a regular weekend and I had so much fun.
It pains me to say, I had too much fun to worry about blogging. Not that I don’t like blogging.
When you work in Social Media and spend your spare time blogging, it’s nice to join the real world for a few days.

Here are a few snaps from the long weekend & what we got up to!

We hit up the Manchester Pride 2013 parade.
I go every year, and try to go to some of the other celebrations whenever possible.
The parade and event promotes a great sense of community and spirits run high all weekend.

The parade is also hilarious and our Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ turned up to show his support! image_3 image_4 image_5

Above you can also see 3 amazing looking queens, Madonna and her kids & Elliott and E.T.

After we’d watched the Parade, we had stuff to do!
We visited Affleck’s Palace (2nd time in a week for me!) and saw this awesome Despicable Me 2 cake in a window.
Get in my Belly, but also get on display in my home.

Check the cake pops too! ❤

Sunday saw our visit to the Spinfest Beer & Blues festival at the Oast House off Deansgate.
I was planning on writing a whole post about it, but just like last year the blues were lacking any melancholy or feeling.
It was a pretty pleasant day out though, and I made friends with this kid so I got to play at rolling a bouncy ball across a wall for an hour or two.
Adorable!

I also got to try this pretty nice drink (I forget the name) and got myself a cool free (orange) hat!
There you can see me with my crooked Ray Bans (and the kimono on its debut performance!)

So, that was my Bank Holiday in a nutshell – apart from spending Monday reading Mindy Kaling’s “Is everyone hanging out without me? (and other concerns)” and watching Breaking Bad, obvs.
It actually wasn’t as busy as I made it sound, was it?
