It’s clear to anyone who has ever visited England outside of our allocated 3 days’ sunshine in early August that for the rest of the year, the jumper is an absolute must for every wardrobe.
For the upcoming “festive” (read: freezing) months, I’ve been on the lookout for some quirky but totes wearable knitwear that won’t break the bank.
Here are my findings:
The Autumn Warmer
Although I really like animal-themed knitwear, I find that it can be a bit fussy. Especially if you’re not completely svelte (like most women in the UK) or have ample bosom.
This number from Dorothy Perkins is equal measures of quirky and simple, and is great for layering against blouses & button-ups.
This is currently on sale for just £12
Tip: Size up x1 with this item if you want to use it for layering.
The Quirk Bomb
Fashion houses all over the world are knocking out beautiful pieces with PU sleeves this year.
Well, Fashion Union have flip reversed the idea and come up with this splendid knit sleeve PU jumper in Khaki.
The zip detail to the neck gives this badboy just the right amount of attitude.
Get it for just £18.
Hot Chocolate Chic
In the festive months, I enjoy having a piece I can wear for lazy times which doesn’t make you look like you’ve made no effort.
I call this “piece” my Hot Chocolate Chic item, and the main criteria is that is has to be longline (to wear with leggings) and have some sparkle.
This George Sequin Stag jumper seems to have completely tapped into my winter wishlist. It’s available for just £16.
No matter what you’re wearing this winter, a cover-up will come in handy.
I love this one from Fashion Union which has just been reduced to £24.
Perfect for layering & lazing around – just imagine curling up with a good book draped in this beauty!
So there you have it – my top 4 knit picks for under £25.
