For the first time ever the family are taking a holiday in the UK.
Easters past have seen the McGees venture as far as the USA, and at least as far as Eastern Europe, but after much discussion, we’ve all agreed to try a staycation of sorts.
In actual fact we’re leaving our town, and making the gruelling 1-hour drive to the Lake District to spend 4 relaxing days by a lake with the dogs.
Although I’m no stranger to lakeside holidays, mine are usually passed in the blistering heat of Italy or Greece, and although UK short breaks are not alien to me – I’m used to spending those trekking around museums.
So this is pretty new to me, and the idea that I can just “nip home” if I forget anything has had to be banished!
I can’t wait to forget the makeup and hit the trees on my bike for a few days.
Still… I thought it’d be fun to share my packing. Again.
Cardigan : H&M (sold out) | Led Zeppelin Tshirt : Amplified (No longer available) | Distressed Jeans : Rag & Bone | Running Shorts : Topshop | Swimsuits : George @ Asda | Birkenstock Madrids : Schuh | Vans : Skate Hut| Stretch Trousers : H&M | Blouse : George @ Asda
I particularly love the H&M trousers – they come up just a little bit short so they’re right on trend!
I’m not sure if that’s intentional, but its appreciated.
I also had a long internal debate about the rules of buying Birkenstock sandals, ain’t nobody ready for retirement here – but then I went to try some on and OH BOY are they comfy!
They also make your toes look really cute, and reminded me of queueing up at Disney world, so I counted them in.
If you’re asking yourself the same question, the answer is yes.
So now I’m off to ride my bike, fall out of trees, scrape my knees, swim with the dogs and get cold sat around a BBQ.
Hasta La Vista!
