This weekend I went back home to Wigan to visit Ma & Pa, the Pooches and my best good friend, Laura.
Usually this involves a couple of days of eating, reading, watching Tom Hanks movies, rolling round on the lounge floor with the dogs, curry, rum and late night singalongs to YouTube videos.
This weekend was no exception.
One other reason I love going to Wigan is the Book Cycle.
If you’re local, its where Beech Hill Library used to be – if you’re not, you can find information here.
The idea is really cool, you take in old books you’re done with, make a donation and you can take away up to 3 other books.
This weekend I picked up “The Society of Other” by William Nichols and “The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao” by Junot Díaz. The latter is a book I’ve wanted to read for a long time. I was surprised and delighted to find it hiding on the shelves there!
So, I spent a little of Saturday reading, but reading “And the Mountains Echoed” by Kahled Hosseini. I’m saving the above for my holidays!
Then the BFF & I went out to dinner – I had a delicious fish markhani! Nom.
Anyway, I haven’t really got anything else to say except that I’m super refreshed & ready for the full throttle fortnight ahead!
Did you have a good one?
