Looking for the Devil in Clarksdale, MS.

ground zero

Not much is known about Robert Johnson except that he supposedly traded his soul to the Devil, at the crossroads in Clarksdale, Mississippi. He was probably the founding member of the “27 club” too, but really his music is the only concrete legacy left behind.
Since he lent such inspiration to our faves, Led Zeppelin, we couldn’t pass up the chance to visit the crossroads on our journey through to Memphis.
While we’re at it, we’ll be hitting Ground Zero Blues Club, which is famously part-owned by the voice of God himself, Morgan Freeman. Everyone cross your fingers he’s around this weekend.

Here we’ll be enjoying proper blues music, and delta food – poboys, gumbo, hush puppies – and plenty of beer no doubt.
The weather is promising a pleasant 23 degrees.

Ps I’ll be running the Great Manchester 10k on May 11th in aid of The Wood Street Mission. They are a Manchester charity dedicated to supporting local families living in poverty. All of your support is massively appreciated by me and of course the 14,000 children affected by poverty in Manchester. If you’d like to contribute you can sponsor me here: https://www.justgiving.com/CatherineCantRun/
