After 4 years we are finally back on home-from-home soil. Memphis, TN has burrowed itself so deeply into my heart that I almost feel like an honorary Memphian. We have our favourite haunts, friends to visit and new spots to test out.
Here we’ll be attending the Memphis in May festival where we’re excited to watch the Pixies, Ed Sheeran, John Fogarty and Slash among hundreds of other fantastic artists from all genres.
We’ll also be catching up with Bangkok Alley (the best Thai restaurant in the whole USA), Graceland, Sun Studio and The Civil Rights Museum. We have friends meeting us from Nashville for a couple of days, so eating, drinking and being merry is high on the agenda.
We’ll be catching Craig Schuster on the Duelling Pianos at Silky O’Sullivans. We’ll be scoffing catfish dinners and pulled pork stacks until we’re sick, and we’re never going to want to leave.
The weather for the week is set to be around 28 degrees with a few showers so plenty excuse to be in and outdoors.
Check out the Peabody Hotel Ducks for a little dose of “aww”.
Ps I’ll be running the Great Manchester 10k on May 11th in aid of The Wood Street Mission. They are a Manchester charity dedicated to supporting local families living in poverty. All of your support is massively appreciated by me and of course the 14,000 children affected by poverty in Manchester. If you’d like to contribute you can sponsor me here: https://www.justgiving.com/CatherineCantRun/
